A cryptographic hash function is a deterministic procedure that takes an arbitrary block of data and returns a fixed-size bit string, the (cryptographic) hash value, such that an accidental or intentional change to the data will change the hash value. The data to be encoded is often called the “message”, and the hash value is sometimes called the message digest or simply digest.
We try hard to be the most complete online-hash-calculator on the web.
Other than most other online-hash-calculators serversniff supports a broad range of hash algorithms, including many of the candidate-algorithms for the NIST hash function competition (SHA3).
Please write to tom@serversniff.net if you think there is a hash-algorithm missing, if you found a bug or just want to see an additional feature implemented here.
